The clerks at this Prairie Village women's-wear store have a hard time describing the jewelry selection. "Um, maybe eclectic," one says. "Classically bohemian?" another offers. A third says, "Eclectically ethnic," and the first two "ooh" and nod in agreement. It's not easy to describe because Natural Wear doesn't rely on any one major jewelry provider for its stock. Instead, the store relies on local jewelry makers and metalworkers, designing out of their homes, for many of the baubles in their display case. Some are older jewelry pieces reworked for a more contemporary style. Each clerk also acts as a jewelry buyer, seeking out and meeting potential artists, and the employees' divergent tastes give Natural Wear its unique cross-section of styles.
