J. Will Fritz's character in Pies From the Porn Kitchen is a leading role, not a small part. But we salute him not just for a fine performance but also because he carried out that fine performance while his bits were hanging out. For much of the play's 50 minutes, the audience got a pretty good look at Fritz's fritz as the actor played a nude man whom two maids stumble upon when they enter a porn-filled apartment for work. The brisk play was outstanding in its own right, walking a thin line between titillation and art. And Fritz's co-stars, Maggie Hogan and Emily Peterson, were wonderful in the Fishtank production. But Fritz was the cast member - come on, you'd say the same thing - who really fleshed out his part without wilting.
