Burgers are a big deal in meat-and-potato-lovin' KC. Barbecue and steaks may be this town's signature dishes, but a perfectly cooked all-beef patty evokes almost as much reverence. None of the beauties at the new restaurants in the Power & Light District has the incandescence of the "Classic Burger" at Westport's Blanc Burger + Bottles. The brainchild of Eddie Crane, Ernesto Peralta and chef Josh Eans, Blanc attempts to do for the traditional burger what Alexander McQueen does for couture. There are flashier options — the Kobe beef burger, the Inside Out burger with the blue cheese center, the spicy buffalo burger — but their fresh spin on the basic hamburger, the Classic, is a standout: a grilled beef patty topped with aged New York white cheddar and homemade pickles on a soft brioche — with made-from-scratch ketchup.
