Six home games a year, Kauffman Stadium sheds the exorbitant prices typical at concession stands throughout the major leagues. Buck Night takes fans back 30 years, when a family of four could afford a night at the ballpark without taking out a small loan. The dollar hot dogs, peanuts, and soft drinks brought out the fans in droves this season. In fact, as of August, Buck Nights -- which are usually paired with another major promotion -- drew an average of 9,000 more fans to the K than regular home dates. Even if the product on the field isn't always up to par, at least Buck Nights fill the seats and fattens the fans up cheap.
