The Isle of Capri Casino doesn't want its patrons to waste one quarter on anything other than the slot machines. It lets customers save the big bills for gambling, charging only $3.95 for a winning morning meal. The buffet is loaded with made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs and bacon, corned-beef hash, smoked salmon, biscuits and sausage gravy, cheese blintzes, hot and cold cereals and soggy -- but tasty -- pancakes and French toast. This is a rousing way to kick off the morning, from the strong coffee to the loud music (Aretha Franklin, the Pointer Sisters, Jerry Lee Lewis) competing with all the bells, whistles and clanking tokens from the gambling floor downstairs. It's fascinating to watch patrons stumble in, bleary with sleep, then chow down as if there's no tomorrow and leave the place totally revitalized, ready to take on either the day or the blackjack tables.
