Brad Smith

Because of the Maurice Clarett ruling, which prevents underclassmen from skipping out on school to pursue NFL riches, football fans can rest assured that they'll be able to watch the sport's top talents compete at the collegiate level. If Brad Smith played basketball, he probably would have already declared himself eligible for the draft, like Tiger hoops heroes Kareem Rush and Keyon Dooling. Instead, he's a credible Heisman hopeful and a Sporting News preseason All-American. Like Corby Jones, another signal caller who led MU to respectable records, Smith can run as well as he guns. Unlike Jones -- or, for that matter, any other college quarterback in history save one -- Smith has run for 1,000 yards and passed for 2,000 more in a single season.
