Taking its name from a James Brown hook — and taking an example from the man's famous work ethic — the Good Foot kicked onto the scene around the turn of the year with an unstoppable, instantly refined take on classic American soul, and then just kept going. In a sense, the group's arrival came as a resounding duh: Yes, we are sick of indie rock! Yes, we need a dose of Motown! Whether bashing out some hot-and-heavy Family Stone or wooing the crowd with some stately, seductive Al Green, the lovely Miss Julia Haile and her boys never tire, never lose sight of the beat. And with weekly and monthly bookings all over town, most frequently at Czar Bar, there's plenty of Good Foot to go around.

Guys sound really good and tight. I frequent the Levee and saw you there. The dude on the drums needs to step it up and drive it hard. He acts like he's just going through the motions and is not contributing much.
