Tiramisu and cheesecake are fine, but at the end of a meal, nothing sweet hits the spot like a good old-fashioned dessert made the good old-fashioned way. People hand-mix all of the ice cream served at Mulberry Creamery. The place also uses local ingredients from the Shatto Milk Company and the Pastry Goddess, which makes for extra-satisfying sundaes. And if you go to Mulberry Creamery on the right day, you might even get to order some ice cream that tastes like tiramisu or cheesecake. Or Boulevard Wheat. Seriously. The ice- cream shop at Briarcliff Village is like the Jelly Belly of ice cream, mysteriously able to replicate offbeat tastes with surprising accuracy. Our favorite could also count as lunch: peanut butter and jelly.
