Best Dresses

Vintage Vogue

Vintage Vogue owner Kathy Rasmussen loves to hunt for period clothing that's in great shape despite its age. "I do like just to find the best vintage in really good condition, that doesn't have stains or moth holes or anything like that," Rasmussen says. That's probably why her 3,000-square-foot store is one of the best places in town to find vintage dresses that look almost new. She's particularly fond of clothes from the '40s and '50s, but she has so much clothing that she can't put it all out. Anyone looking for something specific can call ahead and ask Rasmussen to check her stored stash. And she's happy to dispense fashion advice to anyone who wants to learn how to mix vintage and modern items. "I just love it, and I've got a real feel for the different periods," Rasmussen says. (Her shop is open from noon to 6:30 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.)
