Rebecca Ann Sherwood -- Becki to her friends, the Beckinator to her disciples -- is the living embodiment of why simply being there is the best way to support the music scene. But she doesn't stop there. This 26-year-old has seen more bands than God. Her list-manic Web site, www.geocities.com/electricpear, to which she frequently posts concert calendars more comprehensive and on the cool tip than any independent music info site we've seen, proves that she's a walking index of modern Kansas City music history. She not only owns every album by the area's best-loved bands but also claims to have seen 909 bands since 1996 -- that's 184 in 2002 alone. And she's seen most of those bands multiple times, especially the local acts. A couple -- the Golden Republic and Elevator Division -- she's seen nearly 50 times each. Now that is one life in rock and roll.
