When Amy Schlabach and Wendy Gillman tentatively stepped onto the stage at the 18th Street Fashion Show in June, following in the pretty footsteps of their willowy models, we thought, There's no one else we'd rather buy lingerie from. The women, who design the Sophie and Gwendolyn line, looked smart and confident yet a little unsure of how they were being received. We immediately began pondering ways to befriend them. And their offerings were, in a word, gorgeous. There were ruffles and bows, paired with minimalist, drapey numbers, and we could tell from 200 yards away that the construction was flawless. If only we could wear their styles on the outside.
