We realize we probably shouldn't be revealing this, but we can't help it, because the Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours (i.e., happy hour) events are pretty damn fun and a really great idea. These monthly networking gatherings occur in different cool locations around town, such as the Liberty Memorial after its reopening; Barney Allis Plaza for the kickoff of Avenue of the Arts; the newly renovated KCPT Channel 19 building; and the BNIM Architects office in the KCPL building. The somewhat tricky part is actually getting in: Admission is $5 for Chamber of Commerce members and $20 for nonmembers. So if you don't work for a company that belongs to the Chamber, finding a way to sneak in for $5 is key. (Usually, just walking in will do.) Once you're in, there's a great buffet (catered by a different place each time) and, more important, a seemingly unlimited supply of wine and beer.
