Teresa Poppinga named her business after herself. Why shouldn't she? The young entrepreneur creates and sells some of the creamiest homemade ice creams and sorbets in town. In the shop's freezer case, we've seen such unusual flavors as cake batter, cinnamon bun, gianduja, lemon cookie, grapenuts and chocolate coma (a deep, rich chocolate ice cream with crushed Oreos, bits of brownie and chocolate chips). Because that type of assortment makes it tempting to want to taste all of them, Poppinga sells the "Summit Sampler" — 10 mini-scoops, each a 1-ounce portion, for $5.10. For the dog lovers who bring along their beloved pooches, Poppy's also sells a puppy scoop of custard with a dog cookie.
