So, there we are at PotPie one night, sippin' on scotch and enjoying the acoustic, alt-country tunes of Rex Hobart and J.B. Morris, when in walks trouble. But she's more of the oblivious-hippie kind of trouble than actual Trouble-trouble. Dressed in a flowy skirt and toting an African tonal drum (which looks like a wooden shoebox), she brazenly gets onstage and starts hammering away at the thing with her bare hands during "Forever Always Ends," much to the amusement of the performers. "We suck without a rhythm section," Rex says. Turns out, she's called the Rainbow Lady, and during subsequent songs, she does her hippie dance by waving the drum around over her head or waving her skirt and dancing a merry jig. If anything, that puts the
alternative in alternative-country.
