Pairing two of the most exciting artists in jazz, alto-sax standout Greg Osby and mind-blowing pianist Jason Moran, this gig showcased all that the American Jazz Museum's Blue Room can be. There's not a bad seat in the house, so every spectator had a vivid view of the improvisational masters at work. The venue's classy décor accentuated the luxurious music, making for a romantic atmosphere that allowed amorous couples to extend Valentine's Day for another evening. But this was no smooth jazz serenade -- there were enough jolts to keep even the most relaxed listeners alert and riveted.
