Running a crossing pattern against the KU defense is not a very appetizing prospect for a wide receiver. Not when senior defensive back Carl Nesmith is lurking across the line of scrimmage. Known for his bone-crushing hits and catlike quickness, Nesmith must see the opposition as a piece of meat. The preseason All-American serves as a team captain and leads a squad that (through the first three games of the season) ranked first in the nation in passing defense at 84 yards per game. Expect even bigger kills from "The Butcher" as the season progresses.
