Gala is not really a restaurant, but a gentleman's nightclub where nubile young ladies in pasties (not pastries) and G-strings, with such stage names as Destiny, Serenity, and Simone, perform "dances" around a brass pole. Food is served each night, though, and the female servers are just as attractive as their onstage counterparts. "Sometimes," says club manager Jeff Stoller, "the servers will become performers because that's where they can earn more money." One looks like film star Charlize Theron, another like a young Mary Tyler Moore. Though they wear slightly more functional outfits than the dancers when they bring out hefty prime rib (The Big One) and sautéed chicken breasts, nothing is left to the imagination.
