Translated as "the dirty one," Grünauer's Der Schmutzige has the color of a sunset and the taste of smooth, salty layers. It looks a little like a Cosmo, but its bite belies its main ingredient: black-peppercorn- and mustard-seed-infused Sobieski vodka. "You can taste all the ingredients in it," bartender and inventor Scott Beskow says. Made with sauerkraut juice, pickle juice and beet brine, this dirty martini occasionally gets sent back — but those who stick with it end up raving. "The drink has a following," even at $9, Beskow says. Must be the dill-pickle-wheel garnish.
