Kansas City has sticky fingers in 2010. Be it Gates, Fiorella's or Oklahoma Joe's, barbecue has taken the spotlight in hip-hop, thanks mostly to Tech N9ne. The first single off Tech's recent Gates Mixed Plate shows Tech in a familiar place: the dark, smoky interior of Gates Bar-B-Q. Tech raps in the parking lot, behind the bar and in one of the booths at the local institution, but the video doesn't take off until the top-hatted Gates logo starts break-dancing on Tech's tray. The hallucination pays tribute to the man's muse while referencing another Kansas City tradition: getting stoned and chowing down on ribs and baked beans.
