Andy's Green Thing at Harry's Bar and Tables

Andy's Green Thing, a blend of Stoli, Midori, pineapple juice, grenadine and sweet-and-sour mix, is dangerously tempting in a drink-three-in-half-an-hour-and-call-a-cab kind of way. The ingredients explain its candy-sweet appeal but don't account for why the Thing is green on top, then fades from yellow to orange to red at the bottom of the martini glass. Andy, the bartender who invented the concoction, once explained the science behind this phenomenon, but it was tough to follow after consuming the debilitating beverage.
