When Daven Gee, Rebecca Dolan and Barry Anderson launched a site-specific sequence of new media exhibitions in the renovated Boley Building last October, titled Time:Base:Inside, it fell flat right on its time:base:face. So we were leery of Round Two, which opened this past April, but we kept an open mind. And aren't we glad we did. The co-curators smartly went smaller (more focused) with Time:Base:Behavior; the works were strictly video and included a sidebar of unnerving shorts by renowned filmmaker George Kuchar. The cavernous gallery was dark, apart from the projections, and the fusion of sounds from the myriad videos provided a pleasantly discombobulating fuzz behind our eyes. Unless that was the free beer.
