Whether the sounds emanating from the stage are death-rock riffs or hip-hop beats, the crew of experts behind the boards keeps the songs sounding clear, and the poster-packed club offers plenty of history and an absorbing atmosphere. Other venues offer a similarly enjoyable setting for listening to live music, and a few match The Bottleneck in night-to-night quality, but none can approach this club's variety.
