The bar rooftop deck is still something of a rarity in Kansas City. Located in one of the many labyrinthine strip malls that cover the Northland, the Granfalloon's deck is an oasis in a sea of big-box stores. After climbing up a long, steep flight of wooden stairs, you're rewarded by a large space surrounded by high, cream-colored walls (with windows, lest you feel like a prisoner) and dotted with flowering trees. And for those who can't bear to be away from a TV, this deck has four of 'em mounted onto an iron frame. Yeah, KC gets hot, but given some shady areas, a rooftop breeze and that requisite cold brew, things look cool from the top level of the Granfalloon.
