Forsaking jingles and stilted comedy routines, radio advertisements for the Bank of Blue Valley rely almost solely on the soothing sounds of Bob Regnier, the company's president. In the manner of a public-radio pro, Regnier spins 60-second yarns about his customers, who wouldn't dream of banking anywhere else. In one spot, he describes a son who tells his father that Bank of Blue Valley is the one good bank in Johnson County. The father decides to see for himself. He goes to a branch, receives a warm handshake, and a great relationship is born. "Now he's friends with just about everybody in the bank, and everyone knows him by his name," Regnier says, sounding unscripted and utterly convincing.
