When it's time for the relationship to end, the humble neighborhood bar at the corner of 39th Street and Bell can be a comforting place. It ain't fancy, but a last date doesn't need to be. Gilhouly's serves cheap drinks and employs bartenders who won't flinch at jilted lovers' tears and shouts. (Bonus for onlookers: free popcorn.) The dimly lighted barroom's ample seating includes a row of red-vinyl booths where separations can be discussed calmly, face to face. And ladies who need some affirmation after the conversation will appreciate the single-stall restroom with mirrors enough to see one's self from every angle. The jukebox is stocked with plenty of good breakup tunes, including "Desperado" and "She's Out of My Life," so be sure to leave the unloved one with some quarters.
