Few things are as delicious as the collation of graham crackers, Hershey bars and roasted marshmallows. The S'mores Cart, by artists Kurt Flecksing and Sean Starowitz, is an equally delicious idea: art that generates more art. First, there's genius in the act of setting up shop on the sidewalk outside a gallery opening and selling s'mores to city folk because, in art terms, the dessert is recontextualized from the campfire to an urban setting. But then Flecksing and Starowitz use the profits to fund micro grants for artists or groups involved with public art. So far, they've sent a little money to Theo Bunch, whose mobile chicken coop raises awareness about urban farming, and to Matt Erlaub, an urban biking proponent and artist.
