Count Cara as one frustrated Republican. The former Young Republican describes herself as an ex-"Republican-votin', yippy-dog-ownin', law-practicin', Echo-drivin', RIAA-hatin', trip-hop-groovin', Fark-clickin' broad." She's a lifelong Missouri Republican who's anti-abortion and pro-gay rights. Cara started blogging in June 2005 after moving to Kansas, where conservatives had hijacked the GOP. "In Missouri it's enough to say, "I'm a Republican,' and people go, 'OK, fine,'" Cara says. "Kansas is so fractured that you have to demonstrate your Republican street cred at every turn." To cope, she blogs fiery sermons, shredding Attorney General Phill Kline as a "media whore, paper tiger" and "Crazy" Kay O'Connor for opposing a minimum age to marry. A taste: "I can't imagine many scenarios where little AprilMayJune Beauregarde from CuzinFuk, KS, has to choose an abortion because Earl from up the way got her all pregnant but won't marry her 13-year-old self." Just don't expect Cara to join the party swap. After all, one of her guiding philosophies comes from South Park co-creator Matt Stone, whom she quotes on her site: "I hate conservatives, but I really fucking hate liberals."
