The Blues didn't have the best 2008-09 season. But they didn't have the worst, either. Out of five West Division 1 Northern League teams, the club ended up third, with an even record of 3-3. But one season does not a club make, and what this one lacks in victory, it makes up for in history. The Blues have been busting heads for generations — the team started in 1966. In recent years, it has climbed up to Division 1 status and recruited nationally recognized talent, including Clint Olearnick, who was named to the 2008 Eagle Player Pool. That's the stuff of national championships. Or it will be one day. At this writing, the call was out for new blood: The Blues' Web site was announcing tryouts and a twice-weekly practice schedule in September. We dare you to name another local franchise with this much heritage that's open to your on-field contribution.
