The gorgeous, modernist Crate & Barrel in Leawood seems ideal. The architecture is fresh and airy, and the friendly juxtapositions of objects and furniture are engaging and quite handy. And whereas living in the flagship store on Chicago's Michigan Avenue might be better, we can't have everything. For now, just lounge on the couches by the west-facing, floor-to-ceiling window and watch the sun set over more shopping at Town Center, and imagine sipping a cocktail from one of the stylish glasses you picked up downstairs in the housewares section. Restaurants and a grocery store are within walking distance, and there's enough parking for all your friends. Think they'd notice a straggler in pajamas at closing time?
