Best Sunday Brunch
Café Maison
Best Sunday Brunch An interesting combination of light buffet and off-the-menu dishes, Café Maison's European-style brunch presents two options: the cold buffet spread of croissants, cheeses, patés, sliced meats, salads and pastries for $9.95; or, for a few bucks more, a luscious starter course for one of several hot dishes prepared in the restaurant's tiny kitchen. The salmon hash is particularly fabulous, but the eggs Benedict and omelets cooked to order are trop bon pour être vrai. The French toast stuffed with Granny Smith apples and walnuts in a cinnamon-butter sauce is perfect for diners who crave sweets in the morning. The petite restaurant has only thirteen tables, so if you want to make sure you get one, arrive as close to the 10 a.m. opening as possible. Standing outside waiting for a table to free up is un alésage foutu.
