While Kansas City went nuts over the Lewis and Clark bicentennial extravaganza during the 4th of July weekend -- which was replete with cheesy re-enactments, a "Lewis and Clark laser show" and a fireworks display that kind of went bust -- the coolest tribute was quietly docked over at Kaw Point, waves lapping at its beer-keg pontoons. Of course, such kick-assedness had to have been engineered by Boulevard Brewing Company, which made its own "backhanded -- and backward -- toast" to the intrepid duo by building a 28-foot vessel and sailing it down the Missouri River from Yankton, South Dakota, to St. Louis. Outfitted with kegs of tasty Boulevard goodness, this floating bar meandered along, dispensing drinks and good cheer. And for that, cheers to you, Boulevard. Cheers to you.
