Sports fans often complain about teams that don't communicate with their fans and about announcers who confuse the shouting of catchphrases with analysis. The Kansas City Wizards' television broadcasts offer a welcome contrast to those woes. The team's management bluntly communicates with fans on the broadcasts, and almost every Channel 29 telecast features a team official talking openly about possible player transfers. The announcers also interview coach Peter Vermes every game — in the middle of play, for as long as 10 minutes. It's all the work of Dave Borchardt and Sasha Victorine, who offer intelligent and honest analysis that's delivered in coherent and complete sentences.
