At the trials depicted in Gross Indecency: The Trials of Oscar Wilde, where Wilde glibly defended his love of trashy rent boys, the boys themselves gave testimony in those one-piece Victorian undergarments that were akin to long johns cut off above the elbows and knees. Yeah, like they were innocent victims. The show was wildly theatrical and, as if Wilde's words alone wouldn't suffice, made the events in question seedy and sexy.
