Nestled in the heart of the city's art district, Y-J's Snack Bar is the ultimate in urban cool. It's a tiny place with just a couple of tables, and it gets particularly cramped when the management books a musical act (which, more often than not, tends to be something avant garde). But that only adds to the intimacy. Hardly a conversation can take place there without being overheard, making it the ideal spot to catch up on gossip and word of what's happening in town. The window sills host stacks of cool magazines and papers, and the rest of the décor is PoMo to the core, a veritable collage of campy detritus. It's the perfect place to nurse a coffee all afternoon and eavesdrop or read up on what's going on in our burg.
