Most people think that the best views are the most beautiful. Often misleadingly framed, however, these glorious fields of vision distort what we're looking at. That's why we think the best view of the city is from the porch of the Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center in Kansas City, Kansas. From here, the city is encircled by a loop of highways on the other side of a river. Inside the loop is a cluster of skyscrapers jutting upward and a sea of factories and gutted brick buildings with old grain-trading company logos fading on their facades. In the foreground and in the distance, residential areas appear calm and serene, framing the picture with a quiet expansiveness. To get a good view of the city, it's important to get some perspective. Corrective lenses might not even be necessary.
