DJs Memphis Black and Superwolf have long delighted Kansas City night crawlers with their stellar flea-market record finds, rare funk and soul 45s that can inspire dance in the stiffest of white boys. The duo performs all over town, but it's a weekly gig at Mike's Tavern that offers a regular spotlight. The bar, across the street from Rockhurst University, brings in a heavy college-kid contingent, but that's no reason for the older folks to stay away. Memphis Black and Superwolf dish out some of the most danceable tracks in town without resorting to 1980s kitsch or leg-humping techno beats. And with no cover charge and drunk-friendly specials ($2 well drinks), Mike's Tavern makes the awardable affordable.
