A woman bartender at this small tavern, near the corner of 63rd Street and Raytown Road, boasted that the Bickering Tree is one of the safest bars in the city. True, it's popular with police officers - a large framed collage of badges hangs on the wall - and there aren't any pool cues for busting heads or any darts for poking out eyes. An older, gentle crowd tends to stop in early for coffee or a cheap domestic bottle during happy hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There just isnt much to get one riled up at this place, unless it's a discrepancy over a date on the chalkboards list of birthdays. But even then, why fight instead of enjoying the dirt-cheap drinks and friendly conversation?
