As a good Crossroads resident, The Pitch is required to host a gallery show every First Friday and also keep the lawn mowed, or we'll get reported to the neighborhood association and possibly have to pay a fine. Although the mower won't start for some reason, Pitch Art Director Zach Trover, who is very clever with his hands, has organized tonight's almost embarrassingly awesome team of Lowbrow and urban artists for an exhibit called KC Hustle. Trover is joined by Sike Style, artist and fashion designer; Nathan Fox, comic-book artist; Scribe, Kansas City muralist; Brian Bullets, Bleeding Heart tattooist; and Jeremy Madl, the artist known as MAD, whose enterprises include the design and manufacture of custom vinyl toys, including the matching 10-inch figures that each artist has painted for exhibition in the show. Additionally, all participants will collaborate on a six-part mural painted live on-site that, like everything else at the show, is available for purchase. Join us between 6 and 10 p.m. at 1701 Main for art, live music and affordable merch. And please forgive the lawn — the neighbor kid is mowing on Saturday.
