Bike-In Movie

When: Thu., May 17, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $10
"Bike Week is the best week in the history of the universe!" says Sarah Shipley. Well, she would say that — she's BikeWalkKC's marketing coordinator. But what is it? "It's the time of the year when everything bike is celebrated," she adds. Closing out the week is tonight's Bike-In Movie, at Boulevard Drive-In (1051 Merriam Lane, Kansas City, Kansas, 913-262-2414). Starting at 7, the event features food trucks, bicycle repair, retail booths, industry information, and activities for kids. At 9, the 1979 film Breaking Away screens. The coming-of-age classic (with a very young, hunky Dennis Quaid in the cast) is the best bicycle movie in the history of the universe. Admission is $10. For a list of all Bike Week events, see bikeweek.bikewalkkc.org/events.php.
