It’s a long way from a fairway at this golf-themed bar and grill that’s been open since 1985. Across the street from Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Birdie’s attracts just as many Tom Watson-types, who come in early for scotch-and-steak dinners, as it does late-night Tiger Woods-aged hackers who eat nachos and order from the extensive list of bomb shots. Fairly dim except for the glare of ESPN showing on flat-screens, Birdies also serves breakfast all day, making the strip mall-bar a good place to go when you're too hungover for 18 holes.
