It's been 24 years since the first
Bizarre Bazaar was held in a Lawrence living room, but the arty and crafty gift exchange thrown by local artists is all grown-up, now featuring 130 artists and filling all three floors of the Lawrence Arts Center (940 New Hampshire, 785-843-2787). "This is a nonjuried show, where unique and unusual artwork is encouraged," says Elenor Buffington, event coordinator. Among the many items, find fishing-lure bottle openers, papier-mâché sculptures, and skateboard art by 12-year-old artist Maximillian McGraw. Get some gift shopping done from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m (it starts Friday, from 5 to 9 p.m.). Admission is free. See
