Blues Blowin'

In 1994, Kansas City-born Lee McBee recorded 44 on the local label Red Hot. Begun as a side project with a backup band called the Passions (later to become the Confessors), 44 showcased McBee's legendary harmonica playing and soulful vocals. Since then, McBee and the Confessors have toured regionally and picked up a Sunday residency at B.B.'s Lawnside BBQ. Tonight, McBee and the rest of the gang team up with harp master R.J. Mischo to perform two-plus hours of harmonica blues at Knuckleheads Saloon (2715 Rochester, 816-483-1456). Opening the show is Billy Ebeling, paying a birthday tribute to Robert Allen Zimmerman (aka Bob Dylan). Also, Mischo will give away his latest CD, King of a Mighty Good Time, to the first, 30th and 60th persons through the door. Tickets cost $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
