Buzz, Buzz

According to the premise of R.W. Klamm's new play, bumblebees defy science with their ability to fly. Bob, the protagonist of Fly Like a Bumblebee, is kinda like that. He's blind, but you'd hardly know it. He writes radio skits and does magic tricks. The inspirational comedy is mostly autobiographical — Klamm grew up nearly blind in Kansas City, Kansas, and went on to become a teacher, magician and nationally recognized radio and TV writer. His not-yet-complete new play is part of the Unicorn Theatre's In-Progress New Play Reading Series. Learn how to Fly Like a Bumblebee tonight during a 7:30 reading from the Jerome Stage at the Unicorn (3828 Main, 816-531-7529). The performance is free, but a $5 donation is requested. the Unicorn Theater
