Café Tempo Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, 913-469-8500, ext. 4990. The space carved out for this breakfast-and-lunch-only restaurant is boldly minimalist, with gray tiles, glass windows and frosted acrylic tabletops. But neither the cool, sleek dining room nor the menu is in danger of drawing too much attention from the contemporary art in the galleries. The lunch menu is limited to salads and sandwiches - among the nine sandwiches are a meatball grinder, a burger and a grilled cheese. There’s a creative daily fish special, too, as well as a changing array of pasta, quiche, flat bread and wraps. The desserts, displayed in a glass case, are pretty enough to pass as models for a Wayne Thiebaud painting. — Charles Ferruzza
