Restaurant Details

So what if the steaks, chops and seafood at this Atlanta-based chain restaurant are among the most expensive ˆ la carte dishes in the city? High prices are all part of the allure for the power brokers and high rollers who find more glamour in its faux 19th-century ambience than in Kansas City’s real historic steakhouses. There are reasons for Capital Grille’s popularity, though. The service is impeccable, the portions are gigantic (sharing a dinner is an economical alternative to, say, taking out a second mortgage) and chef Ray Comisky’s kitchen is particularly masterful with lamb, Delmonico steaks and veal chops. The noisy room isn’t the best choice for intimate dining, but for a theatrical experience, the place is well worth the steep admission price — Charles Ferruzza
