When internationally recognized fashion designer Peggy Noland was growing up, her father made it a point to take her on regular trips to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (4525 Oak, 816-751-1278). "To be honest, at the time it seemed like such a chore," Noland says. "But looking back, I see how lucky I was to be exposed to art, travel and ideas other than my own." She returns to the museum for the Charlotte Street Artist's Walk, in which she reveals some of her early and more recent inspirations. (Guests also get a chance to reacquaint themselves with her work.) The events at 6 and 7 p.m. are free, but tickets are required. Register at nelson-atkins.org under "Events."
