Each year, mixed martial arts builds a larger national following of fans who appreciate the sports blend of brute force and martial skill. MMA junkies got a kick out of seeing Strike Force fighters on prime-time TV in October, and the whole sport is rallying around the maligned health of its marquee fighter, Brock Lesnar. Kansas City fans can get a taste of ultimate fighting tonight at Fight Night 2: Titan Combat Sports Championship at Memorial Hall (600 North Seventh Street in KCK, 913-549-4853). Titan Fighting is an opportunity for Kansas City and Midwest fighters to come in and get some competitive experience and hopefully move up to bigger stages, says Sam Caplan, a matchmaker for the event. Memorial Hall is a great fight venue the sight lines were designed for combat sports. Tickets range from $25 to $150 to catch roughly a dozen matches headlined by WEC fighter James Krause and 16-2 prospect Eric Marriott.
