What's the difference between men's Division I and Division II college basketball games? For ticket buyers, it's $15.General admission seating for the NCAA Division I exhibition game pitting the University of Kansas against Pittsburg State is $30; floor seats for the Division II University of Missouri-Kansas City versus Quincy University game cost $15. KU's Jayhawks may have a better team, but Allen Fieldhouse just doesn't have the roominess offered by a UMKC Kangaroos game at Municipal Auditorium.
Kangaroos fans can watch a game from cut-rate floor seats without missing any of the action on the court. Jayhawk ticketholders, on the other hand, are warned by the KU Athletics Web site that a ticket "does not guarantee that everyone in your group will sit together" and that fans "may have to stand to be able to see the court."
Both games start at 7 p.m. Tuesday. At press time, the Allen Fieldhouse box office still had tickets available at 785-864-3141. For UMKC tickets, call 816-253-8326.-- Michael Vennard
Pilates is, to many, an all-new, Jennifer Aniston-endorsed exercise fad. But it's been used by dancers for generations to build strength and flexibility along the spine, making near-magical feats of balance possible. Not that the average person needs Balanchine's abs, but if you want to give it a whirl, try the Lunch Crunch at Exhale Studios (1317 Union Avenue, 816-682-1642) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.-- Gina Kaufmann
The Sierra Club's Weston Bend State Park hike this Saturday moves through fall woods and along a bluff overlooking the river and Leavenworth Prison. What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than knowing you're not incarcerated. The free hike starts at 9:30 a.m. To sign up, call Anne at 913-394-6645.-- Chris Sebela
