ConQuest 41: Steampunk & Evil Geniuses

Steampunks, renaissance lovers, role players, science-fiction fans and more converged at the Hyatt Regency Crown for the Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society's 41st annual ConQuest.

Hugo Award-winning author Michael Swanwick was the guest of honor. Also in attendance was Pete Abrams, the creator of popular webcomic "Sluggy Freelance." The three-day event featured dozens of lectures and workshops on writing, storytelling, and crafting as well as live action role playing and sword fighting by North Kansas City's Tempest of Tridia group. Pitch systems specialist Matt Spencer dropped by. Here's what he saw.
