Conroy's Pub provides a nice geographic middle ground between downtown and West Lawrence. Wood paneling, vinyl booths and Antique Road Show-worthy Michelob light fixtures give the place a lovable, uncontrived 1970s vibe. But the important things have been properly updated: the kitchen, which turns out decent pub grub, and the flat-screen TVs. The booze selection is robust, and the crowd is a friendly bunch of regulars. A spacious-enough front porch calls out to smokers.
